Serre Chevalier

WINTER LIGHT ON… SERRE CHEVALIER

SERRE CHEVALIER, GORGED ON SUNLIGHT

Serre Chevalier, popularly known as « Serre Che », is the most authentic ski resort in the Alps. It nestles in the heart of the Guisane valley at the entrance to the Ecrins national park in the south of the Alps. Comprising 13 villages of stunning beauty, this beautiful and attractive  resort radiates the true and unadulterated mountain spirit. The city of Briançon, which figures on the UNESCO world heritage list, Chantemerle, La Salle les Alpes, and le Monetier les Bains confer an authentic character on this cheerful and sporting resort.

THE WHITE GOLD OF SERRE CHE

Stretching from Briançon to the Col du Lautaret, the white paradise of Serre Chevalier boasts 250 kilometres of pistes. A veritable jewel in the midst of the Alps, the resort has 300 days of sunshine a year thanks to its ideal location between the sea and the mountains. The 102 sunny pistes of Serre Chevalier are still the privilege of lovers of the great outdoors and intense sensations. The resort’s skiable zones are scattered with opportunities to ski in valleys, through larch forests, on unpacked black pistes and vertiginous off-piste areas. Spurred on by La Compagnie des Alpes, the skiable zone has been greatly modernized since 2005. Millions have been invested in harmonizing the resort, replacing the mechanical ski lifts and improving the snow cover. A veritable white paradise, Serre Chevalier is still the ideal resort for lovers of intense sensations and those who prefer a more moderate version of mountain sports. The valley offers a thousand and one ways to discover the white paradise of Serre Chevalier.

SERRE CHE OR NATURAL RICHNESS

The many treasures of Serre-Chevalier can also be found in the natural richness of its spring waters. Skiing, pleasure and well-being are veritable leitmotifs of the resort which, in the form of the Grands Bains thermal playground, offers moments of total relaxation with 4500m2 devoted to loosening up and beauty treatments. Natural hot (44°C) water supplies the indoors and outdoors baths.

SERRE CHE OR CULTURAL RICHNESS

While the white gold of Serre Chevalier will always be the favourite playground of skiers, the resort’s villages with a wealth of charms and attractions also offer seasonal visitors the pleasure of strolling through the natural wealth of the region. At a bend in the path, amidst the pines crowned with white, your will find a little church, chapels with a rich aura, sundials, the emblem of all the Hautes Alpes, as the mist curls and swirls in the valleys.
